While this has been mostly rumors for years since the original launch of the iPhone SE in 2016, it may finally come, a new, updated iPhone SE.
While rumors on this are very vague at this point and time, we do have a few expectations from what we can tell based off of this very new and undeveloped rumor. However, such little rumor can tell us a lot about something Apple is developing.
Rumor says it’ll be even cheaper than Apple’s most affordable iPhone currently, the iPhone 7, at $349, or possibly less. This is a great step back from Apple’s most latest “budget” phone, the iPhone XR, at $749 for a 64GB model.
It is possible Apple is trying to present more to the budget market than the iPhone 6, 6s, SE, and 7. This device gives a great option for prepaid carriers to offer for a basic smartphone, manufactured by Apple. Also, this allows major carriers, such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint to offer a BOGO deal on the upcoming iPhone models.
Finally, considering iPhone sales are down and the new 15% import tariff applied to some of Apple’s products, this can help rack up some of Apple’s lost revenue. Also, I could see some sales coming from people trading in older model iPhones to get the price of this new iPhone lower, as Apple has recently ramped up trade-in value on iPhones. As this is a new and premature rumor, we can only wait for more rumors to speculate.
